3313 Relations with Vendors

As a public agency the Board of Education is aware of its responsibility to spend its funds so as to obtain the greatest possible educational value for every dollar spent.

The Thomaston Board of Education wishes to maintain good working relations with vendors who supply materials, supplies and services to the school system. Constructive efforts by the administration to seek the advice and counsel of vendors about how to improve such relationships are encouraged.

Conflicts of Interest and Endorsements

The district will not purchase supplies or materials from a staff member of the school district, nor from a member of the household of the staff member unless the purchase follows the formal purchasing procedures.

Employees of the district will not endorse products or services in such a manner that will identify him/her as an employee of the district.
