9321 Regular and Special Meetings of the Board

Regular Meetings of the Board 


Regular meetings of the Board shall be held on the second Monday of each month unless otherwise posted by the Board. Regular meetings may be rescheduled or cancelled by a majority vote of the Board. 


The Board of Education shall file with the Town Clerk, not later than January 31st of each year, the schedule of the regular meetings of the Board of Education. No meeting shall be held sooner than thirty days after such filing. 


Special Meetings of the Board 


1. A special meeting may be scheduled by a majority vote of the Board when deemed necessary. The vote shall state the time, place and purpose of such special meeting. 


2. A special meeting shall be called by the Chairperson upon a written request of at least three (3) of the members. This request shall state the time, place, and purpose of such special  meeting. 


3. A special meeting shall also be held by the Chairperson whenever deemed necessary. Written notice of each special meeting shall be given to the members of the Board at least 24 hours before the time stated for the meeting to convene. The notice shall indicate the  time, place, and purpose of such special meeting. 


4. Discussion at special meetings shall be limited to the topics identified in the call to the meeting.


Emergency Meetings of the Board 


An emergency meeting shall be called by the Chairperson whenever deemed necessary. The notice of the meeting may be verbal or in writing. The notice shall indicate the time, place, and the nature  of the emergency. Discussion at the emergency meeting shall be limited to the topics identified in the call to the meeting. 


Notice of Meetings 


Notice of meetings shall be posted in the office of the Town Clerk.
